It all begins with an idea.
Two mates with a shared love of the ocean, some funny looking paddleboards that keep raising eyebrows and a bunch of ideas.
Sunlark is the middle of a story of two friends who have always loved spending time in the water, keeping fit and having a laugh. Bringing innovation that optimizes performance, our Step Up Paddleboard creates the possibility for both things we love the most: exercising in the water and having fun.
Sometimes the best way to go forwards is to look back and when we look back we can see how it all started.
Our professional careers, interests and hobbies guided us towards a business promoting good times, fun activities, connection with nature and physical fitness.
Charly grew up in a tourism family business, so of course he is a people person - as soon as he could he set off traveling around the world capturing some awesome moments, through the lens of his camera. In his late twenties he found himself lying on a big foamie. Bondi and the Sydney beaches struck a chord in his heart and never left the beach since.. You can sometimes find him between two kooks at South bondi. Look for the smile.
Matt was raised in the south of France with a French mother, an Aussie father and two frozzy sisters who threw him in a waveless Meditarranean sea the moment I was born. Once his studies were done Matt worked in watersports for some years and decided that was the career he would pursue. As a qualified fitness instructor he was in a quandary - how could he wrap all the things he loved into a business?
Sunlark came about not long after Charly and Matt met each other. Looking back at their common past experiences they quickly realized the direction they wanted to take. Nature, fitness, water, fun..
The Covid pandemic gave them an overload of time to think and it was put to good use. The following year Sunlark was afloat.
Taking an idea and making it a reality is an amazing process and so many good people have helped us along the way.

Located just 5 min drive from Sunlark, it is the ideal place to sit down and relax after a SUP Tour! You will most definitely see it whilst paddling across the pittwater and it is splendid!
The Newport
Set on the stunning shores of Pittwater, The Newport is a vibrant gathering place for all ages.
